A Stone’s throw to idiocy

Sharon Stone has raised the ire of the Chinese with her recent remarks about the region’s deadly earthquake which at last count has taken the lives of over 60,000 people. The actress — best known for another disaster called Basic Instinct 2 — was speaking to reporters on the red carpet at Cannes last week:

Asked if she had heard about the situation in China, Stone replied: “Of course. You know, it was very interesting because at first I am not happy about the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans, because I don’t think anyone should be unkind to anyone else, and so I have been very concerned about how to think and what to do about that because I don’t like that.

“Then I have been concerned about, oh, how shall we deal with the Olympics? Because they are not being nice to the Dalai Lama, who is a good friend of mine.

And then this earthquake and all this stuff happened and I thought, ‘Is that karma, when you’re not nice that the bad things happen to you?‘”

Stone, 50, said her attitude softened after she received a letter from a Tibetan charity which planned to launch a relief programme for victims of the earthquake.

“They wanted to go and be helpful, and that made me cry,” she said. “It was a big lesson to me that sometimes you have to learn to put your head down and be of service even to people who aren’t nice to you.”

Looks like we can finally put that long-running Mensa rumor to rest.

So it actually took a letter from a Tibetan charity to help Stone realize that tens of thousands of Chinese citizens didn’t deserve to die? At least Pat Robertson can blame it on senility when he makes these kinds of remarks. What’s your excuse, Sharon? Botox leakage to the cerebral cortex, perhaps?

Actually, the comparison to Pat is an interesting one. Replace “karma” with “God’s wrath” and you really DO have a classic Robertson gaffe. Can you imagine the spasms the press would be having if the televangelist had made these same remarks? Sure, Sharon is getting some bad press over this but nothing compared to the Cat O’ Nine Tails lashing old Pat would be getting.

But you’re not getting the full effect unless you are watching interview itself. Note the air of authority Stone projects as she blathers on about a subject in which she is completely clueless. Here is the YouTube video:

SHE SUCCESSFULLY BECOMES AN ABSOLUTELY PERFECT IDIOT, DOESN’T SHE?

Sharon Stone is just famous for flashing her beaver to the Worl, wow what and accomplishment. Who takes this Hollywood Harlott seriously anyway.
So what did New Orleans do to deserve Katrina, she is an idiot of gigantic proportion.

Justin — between this and her impromptu fund raiser for mosquito nets in Tanzania back in ’05, yes I think she has perfected the art of idiocy.

=She didn’t realize that they didn’t deserve to die. Undoubtedly she still believes it’s karma, because notice how nowhere does she say she sympahtsizes with the loss, or that she’s sorry for the deaths. Like if someone says, “Oh, my grandparent just died,” one’s natural inclination is to go, “I’m so sorry to hear that.” Whereas Sharon Stone-ed goes, “yeah, that’s karma that little children are dying in schools, they derseve that. Kids deserve to become orphans”.

She sees it as child’s play. It’s not. Sharshit Stone is a load of bullshit.
